document processing and data capture solution, provides
efficient and accurate extraction of data from forms
and documents for input into databases and business
systems. Capable of capturing data from all types of
documents, it offers a cost-effective, easy to deploy,
yet powerful alternative to manual entry and traditional
forms of data input.

Single Capture Solution for all Types of Forms

ABBYY FlexiCapture Professional is a comprehensive
product offering capture of data from all types of documents
in a single, complete solution. Without manual pre-sorting
or manual data input, FlexiCapture can digitize data
from the following types of documents in a single stream:
- Templated, or “fixed” forms:
tax forms, insurance claim forms, questionnaires,
voting forms, and school exams.
- Semi-structured documents: invoices,
purchase orders, payment slips, and shipping orders.
- Unstructured documents: contracts,
articles, letters, lease agreements, and other full
text documents.
Various combinations of document types and multipage
documents: multiple page contracts, invoices with plain
text or image appendices.
Unlike traditional data capture systems which rely on
the use of a standard template to tell the capture system
where to find field data for each individual page, FlexiCapture
uses FlexiLayouts, intelligent document descriptions
which can be used to locate key data on a variety of
pages with changing layouts. FlexiCapture’s intelligent
document recognition (IDR) technology uses a set of
rules regarding objects and their relationship to direct
the ABBYY recognition technology to capture the right
information. As a result, a single generic FlexiLayout
can be used in place of multiple fixed layouts to process
multiple documents.
ABBYY FlexiCapture also delivers intelligent
document classification. FlexiCapture technology
categories document types in the incoming stream. While
traditional data capture systems require separator pages,
or patch codes, to be inserted between different document
sets, ABBYY FlexiCapture can automatically detect the
type of form or document and know when a new document
starts, or if there is an attached supporting document.

creating, printing, and inserting sorting pages.
